ABOUT INSPIRATION Painting is not always as relaxing as it seems, especially when the flow of ideas dries up. Nobody can turn on inspiration like a tap - I wish one could. Sometimes i use my photoes like visual prompts for how i could put tones or colours together.
EMPTY WHITE PAPER When faced with a sheet of blank paper I think most artists experience a feeling of being unable to make a single mark for fear of spoiling that pure white surface. I still feel like this each time i come to make a new painting, i am excited at the prospect of making perhaps one of the best pictures i have ever painted.
COMPOSING PICTURES I never make underdrawings before i actually put paint to paper, but sometimes i make small preparatory sketches of my ideas for paintings. It is a process that allows me to determine the overall composition, format and colour balance without inhibiting the spontaneity with which i like to paint.

FINISHING THE ART

I had reached a point where most of the major elements had been resolved and the picture was very nearly finished. This is when i find it is best to put a painting to one side and forget about it. After a while i can look at it with a fresh eye and decide what needs to be done. My vision: to inspire people to look more art, so that they can make the world for the better. Thanks, Yours Pasi
